After a very busy 5 months preparing for our Celebration ball which was held on 18th November 2017 at the Hilton Hotel. A total of 258 guests arrived to a Champaign reception with Jugglers on stilts. There was a fabulous opening song by Emily Adams and dancers from the Langley school of dancers. The night was amazing and we are very proud to announce that £15,750 was raised on the night.
On the 4th November 2017 Debbie and Jacqueline had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Steve Royle on his Radio Lancashire show. It was so great to tell Lancashire what Hug in a Bag is about.
On the 24th October 2017 the Blackpool Gazette kindly featured Hug in a Bag to mark our five year anniversary.

We did it, we turned the illuminations on. All thanks John Joyce for putting together a fantastic auction lot and helping to raise lots of money at last years ball and a special thank you to Suzanne and Martin who bid for it. We had a great night and thanks to everyone who turned out to see us x
A massive well done to Rebecca McConnell who completed her challenge and has raised £500. Thank you so much Rebecca.
Thank you to everyone who braved the weather to support this years dog walk. 40 plus of you beautiful people came along with your gorgeous dogs and helped us raise just short of £500. Thank you yet again to Lee, Steve and all their pals at the boat club who made and served us tea, coffee, bacon and sausage butties.
We were also very lucky to meet two people who had received a hug in a bag and one of them was a lovely man called Brett who joined us with his family and their two doggy's. It's a first for myself and Jacqueline to meet a male recipient and after speaking to him and his wife it was lovely to hear how much it meant to him. Days like today lets us know why we do this.
We had the privilege of meeting the lovely parents of our friend Deborah Osbourne who raised money at her Dads 78th Birthday party. They presented Hug with the astounding amount of £400 donated from friends and family. A massive thank you to John, Moureen and all your family & friends.
At out recent Afternoon Tea we served 170 people a delicious array of cakes and sandwiches. These were served on a wide range of beautiful china that has been collected over the past few months. We have now a cacophony of cups, saucers, plates etc and would like to hire these out to anyone who would like to borrow them to make their event an extra special one.
We are happy to hire for a small donation, please contact us if you are interested.
